Barefoot and Braless in Tuscany
Travel & Places
I have been very fortunate to have traveled as much as I have and, God-willing, will continue to do so. Since this is a personal blog my intention isn't to make travel recommendations, but to share more about what these places and trips meant to me, things I was going through at the time, and a more holistic view of travel and seeing/ experiencing other parts of the world.
I've never been a big "vacation-er" in the traditional sense. My family never took big trips because we had horses, cats, and dogs to look after at home. My first and only all-inclusive was just a couple years ago for my bff's wedding. My first flight was when I was 17, in grade 12, for a school trip to France and borderline traumatic because of having no idea how an airport even works.
Today, usually when I (we) travel, a lot of time is spent in one or two places rather than sight seeing like crazy and trying to "take in" everything a destination has to offer. I've come to really appreciate spending extra time in places and getting to know it past the tourist spots and photo ops. I love getting to know a place more intimately and get a sense of day to day life. Getting a chance to see how locals live has opened my mind up to so many possibilities of ways of life that has breathed so much inspiration into me I struggle explain it in words. But...stick around while I try to do just that ;)
